The Tri-State Pittsburgh Chapter welcomes all qualified applicants to join our local association. Qualified members are peace officers, investigators, prosecuting attorneys, and private industry security professional who are computer forensic examiners, incident handlers, information security professionals, or support the prevention, investigation and/or prosecution of computer and advanced technology related crimes.
How to Join:
- Be a qualified applicant for membership:
a.) Peace Officers, Investigators and Prosecuting Attorneys engaged in the investigation and/or prosecution of criminal activity associated with computers and/or advanced technologies. Each member shall be regularly employed by the Federal Government, State Government, Counties, and/or Municipal subdivisions of any state, or
b.) Management Level and Senior Staff Security Professionals in the regular employ of private business or Industry in the various states, the primary duties of which, are the control and responsibility for security and/or investigation in computer or advanced technology environments
c.) or by virtue of his/her position or interest can provide, or have a need for information and training in the areas of computer and/or advanced technologies.
** No member by virtue of their employment shall be in a position to represent or assist the defense in criminal or civil prosecution. - Complete and sign the membership application. - Each new membership application must be sponsored by two (2) current members in good standing. If you are unable to acquire the necessary sponsors please fell free to bring your completed application to our next chapter meeting and speak with one of the board members, or send an email to secretary@pittsburghhtica.org and provide the details of your current position and work experience.
- Dues - The dues for a new member of the Tri-State Pittsburgh chapter are $50.00
- A check to cover new member dues must accompany application. DO NOT SEND CASH! Applications sent without payment will not be processed! All checks for membership and/or dues must be paid in U.S. Currency and made payable to HTCIA, Inc.

Student Memberships:
The International Board of Directors approved a bylaw provision creating the Student Membership. The purpose of this membership class is to foster, promote, and encourage the study of criminal investigations involving advanced technologies and security by the academic community. It is limited to undergraduate or graduate students majoring in computer science; forensics, criminal justice, law enforcement, corrections, accounting, auditing or similar program of study.
Ten or more Student Members from one college or university may form a HTCIA School Charter. The IEC will establish general application procedures, requirements and governance for HTCIA School Charters.
